Cookie policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Altric Technologies Ltd (“Altric”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit altric.co (the “Website”) and sign in to the Altric app. It explains what they are, which ones we use and why, and how to control them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Website owners use them to make a site work, to make it work more efficiently, and to report on how it is used.
Cookies set by the website owner are “first-party” cookies. Cookies set by another party, for example an analytics provider, are “third-party” cookies.
2. Why we use cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the Website and the app to work, for example to keep you signed in or to remember your cookie choice. We do not ask for consent for these, and they cannot be turned off in our banner.
Other cookies are optional. They help us understand how the Website and the app are used so that we can fix problems and improve them. We set them only after you choose Accept.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| altric_consent (altric_consent_staging on our test site) | Essential | Stores your Accept or Decline choice so we do not ask again. One choice covers altric.co and the Altric app. | Altric (first party, shared across *.altric.co) | Up to 180 days |
| better-auth.session_token (prefixed __Secure- on https) | Essential | Keeps you signed in to the Altric app. Set only when you sign in; not set for visitors to the marketing Website. | Altric (first party, app.altric.co) | Up to 7 days |
| ph_<project>_posthog | Analytics (optional) | Product analytics, and session recordings with inputs masked, so we can see which pages and features are used and fix errors. Not set, and nothing is recorded, unless you accept. | PostHog (analytics provider, on our behalf) | Up to 1 year |
Within the Altric app, accepting also switches on error monitoring with session replay and campaign measurement (counting which campaigns led to sign-ups). Altric does not show advertisements. The lifetimes above are the maximum; browsers may clear cookies sooner.
3. How can I control cookies?
When you first visit, a banner asks you to Accept or Decline. It is a single choice: Accept turns on the optional analytics and recording described above; Decline leaves them off. There is no per-category setting.
Your choice is saved in the altric_consent cookie in the browser you used. It applies to that browser on that device only, so we ask again on a different device or browser, in a private window, or after you clear your cookies.
You can change your mind at any time with the “Privacy choices” control in the footer of the Website, or in Settings inside the app. Declining optional cookies does not stop you using the Website. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be declined because the service cannot work without them.
4. How can I control cookies in my browser?
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; how you do so varies by browser, so use your browser’s help menu. Blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in from working.
5. Other tracking technologies
Similar technologies, such as local storage or tracking pixels, are covered by the same Accept or Decline choice. We use them only for the optional purposes described above.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we use or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
