Terms of service
These Terms govern the use of Altric. We have tried to write them like humans. If something is unclear, email humans@altric.co before paying us.
1. Who we are
Altric is currently operated in Nigeria while Altric Technologies Ltd is in the process of incorporation.
Until incorporation is completed, “Altric”, “we”, “our”, and “us” mean the people operating the Altric service. After incorporation, these Terms may be transferred to Altric Technologies Ltd. We will update the legal details displayed on the site when that happens.
2. Accepting these Terms
By creating an Altric account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using the product, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you use Altric for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for that organisation.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Altric.
3. Who can use Altric
You must be at least 18 years old.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep important account information reasonably current. You are responsible for protecting access to your account.
If you believe somebody has gained unauthorized access to it, contact humans@altric.co as soon as possible.
4. What Altric provides
Altric is a social publishing service.
Depending on your plan and the features currently available, Altric may let you:
- plan social content;
- create and store drafts;
- schedule posts;
- publish content;
- connect supported Facebook and Instagram assets;
- work with team members;
- generate or rewrite content using AI;
- use analytics and publishing information;
- use other tools we introduce.
Features can change as the product develops. A screenshot, roadmap, experiment, or preview is not a guarantee that a particular feature will remain unchanged or ship on a particular date.
5. Your social accounts
Altric currently integrates with Meta services, including Facebook and Instagram.
When you connect a Meta account or asset, you authorize Altric to use the permissions you grant through Meta to carry out actions you request. That includes publishing scheduled content on your behalf.
You remain responsible for:
- the accounts you connect;
- ensuring you have authority to manage them;
- the content you publish;
- compliance with Meta's applicable terms and policies.
Meta controls its own services. We cannot guarantee that Meta will approve, publish, retain, or distribute a post merely because Altric successfully submitted it. Meta may change its API, limits, policies, or functionality without Altric's control.
6. Your content belongs to you
You keep ownership of the content you upload to Altric.
Uploading content does not transfer ownership to us.
You give Altric a limited, non-exclusive licence to:
- store your content;
- copy it where technically necessary;
- process or format it;
- create previews;
- provide AI features you request;
- transmit it to the social platforms you choose;
- publish it on your instructions;
- back it up as part of normal service operations.
This licence exists only so we can provide Altric. It ends when the relevant content is deleted or your account is closed, subject to temporary backup copies, legal retention requirements, and content that has already been published to a third-party platform.
Once content has been published to Facebook or Instagram, deleting it from Altric does not necessarily delete copies held by Meta.
7. Your responsibility for content
You must have the rights and permissions necessary to use content you upload or publish through Altric.
You must not use Altric to publish or facilitate:
- scams or fraud;
- phishing;
- malware;
- spam or abusive automated activity;
- impersonation intended to deceive;
- unlawful threats or harassment;
- child sexual abuse or exploitation material;
- terrorism or violent-extremist content prohibited by law;
- content you know infringes another person's copyright or trademark;
- unlawful disclosure of personal information;
- activity designed to manipulate or evade Meta's systems;
- anything prohibited by applicable Nigerian law.
You also must not use Altric to attack, probe, overload, or interfere with our systems or those of another person.
We take abuse seriously. We may investigate suspicious activity and may restrict publishing while an investigation is ongoing.
8. AI features
Some Altric features may use AI services provided by Anthropic and DeepSeek.
AI-generated material can be wrong, misleading, or incomplete. You decide whether to use or publish it. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before publication, particularly where the content concerns:
- legal matters;
- health;
- finance;
- statistics;
- allegations about people;
- regulated products;
- factual claims that could cause harm.
As between you and Altric, we do not claim ownership merely because output was produced using an Altric AI feature. Your use of AI functionality may also be subject to the relevant provider's usage rules.
9. Plans and billing
Paid Altric plans are billed in Nigerian naira.
Payment is processed through Paystack. Depending on the plan, billing may be monthly, annually, or on another period clearly shown before you subscribe.
You authorize Paystack and Altric to process recurring payments where you choose a recurring subscription.
Before payment, we will show the applicable price, taxes, and total amount you are being charged. Applicable Nigerian VAT and other legally required taxes will be handled as required by law.
10. Trials
We may offer free or discounted trials. The duration and conditions of a trial will be shown when you start it.
If a trial automatically becomes a paid subscription, that will be made clear before you begin the trial. Where a payment method is required, you are responsible for cancelling before the stated conversion date if you do not want the paid subscription.
11. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry payment. We will generally provide a 7-day payment grace period.
During that time we may notify you and ask you to update your payment method. If the amount remains unpaid after the grace period, we may:
- pause scheduled publishing;
- restrict paid features;
- prevent new content from being queued;
- downgrade or suspend the workspace.
We will not immediately delete your data just because a payment failed. If the account remains unpaid for 30 days, we may terminate it and begin the normal account-deletion process described in the Privacy Policy.
You remain responsible for charges properly incurred before suspension or termination.
12. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and you may continue using the plan until then. After cancellation, we will not intentionally charge another renewal.
13. Refunds
We do not use a blanket “no refunds, ever” rule.
As a general rule, fees for a subscription period that has already begun and has been properly supplied are not automatically refundable simply because you stop using Altric partway through the period.
However, we will provide refunds, credits, or other remedies where required by applicable law, including where appropriate for:
- duplicate charges;
- amounts charged after a valid cancellation;
- incorrect charges;
- services paid for but not provided;
- serious defects for which Nigerian consumer law requires a remedy.
If Altric permanently discontinues the paid Service while you still have a prepaid period remaining, we will normally provide a proportionate refund or credit for the unused period.
If we terminate an account because of serious abuse or a material breach of these Terms, unused fees are not automatically refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
14. Price changes
Our costs are affected by infrastructure, third-party APIs, taxes, and foreign-exchange movements. We may therefore review Altric's pricing periodically, including on a quarterly basis.
That does not mean prices automatically increase every quarter.
If we increase the price of an existing subscription:
- we will normally give at least 30 days' notice;
- the new price will apply from a future renewal;
- we will not change the price of a billing period you have already paid for;
- an annual plan stays at its paid price until its next renewal.
If you do not want to continue at the new price, you may cancel before renewal.
15. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Altric at any time.
We may suspend an account immediately where we reasonably believe this is necessary because of:
- fraud;
- phishing;
- spam;
- serious harassment;
- illegal activity;
- child exploitation;
- security attacks;
- compromised credentials;
- unauthorized social-account access;
- attempts to bypass technical or plan limits;
- repeated or serious Meta-policy violations;
- a legal requirement;
- a risk to Altric, our infrastructure, or other users.
For ordinary problems that can reasonably be fixed, we will generally try to notify you and give you an opportunity to fix the issue. We do not promise advance notice where the conduct is serious, urgent, or creates a security or legal risk.
We may also terminate an account for material breach of these Terms after reasonable notice where appropriate.
If we terminate a paid account for our own convenience rather than because you breached these Terms, we will refund the unused portion of prepaid fees.
16. What happens after termination
When an account is terminated:
- access to paid functionality stops;
- scheduled posts may stop publishing;
- connected integrations may be disconnected;
- unpaid amounts already due remain payable;
- normal data-retention and deletion rules begin.
Where technically possible and legally permitted, we may provide up to 30 days for a user in good standing to retrieve or export account information before permanent deletion.
We are not required to maintain an export window for accounts terminated because of fraud, serious abuse, security threats, or legal requirements.
17. Availability and uptime
We are a young product.
Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, self-serve Altric plans do not come with a contractual uptime SLA.
We use reasonable efforts to keep Altric available and reliable, but we cannot promise uninterrupted operation. Downtime can happen because of:
- deployments;
- maintenance;
- bugs;
- infrastructure failures;
- internet failures;
- attacks;
- Meta outages;
- Paystack outages;
- service-provider failures;
- events outside our reasonable control.
We will try to communicate significant known outages where practical. Enterprise customers may later receive different availability commitments under separate agreements.
18. Third-party services
Parts of Altric depend on services we do not control, including Meta, Paystack, hosting providers, and AI providers. Their services can change, fail, or become unavailable.
We may modify, replace, or discontinue an integration where necessary because of a third party's API, policy, pricing, or technical changes. We are not responsible for actions taken independently by a third-party platform against your account.
19. Altric's intellectual property
These Terms do not transfer Altric's software, trademarks, branding, designs, or other intellectual property to you.
You may not:
- present yourself as Altric;
- copy substantial parts of our product to build a competing service;
- bypass access restrictions;
- obtain source code through unauthorized means;
- use our trademarks in a way that suggests endorsement without permission.
Nothing here prevents rights that Nigerian law does not allow us to restrict.
20. Feedback
If you voluntarily send us product ideas or feedback, we may use that feedback to improve Altric without owing you compensation.
That does not give us ownership of your unrelated content, business information, or intellectual property.
21. Warranties
We will provide Altric with reasonable care and skill.
However, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, we do not promise that:
- every feature will always be available;
- every scheduled post will publish at exactly the requested second;
- third-party APIs will always work;
- AI-generated content will be correct;
- Altric will meet every particular business objective.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer protections that Nigerian law makes mandatory.
22. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, Altric will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses such as:
- lost profits;
- lost business opportunities;
- loss of goodwill;
- losses caused solely by a third-party social platform's independent decision;
- losses caused by content you chose to publish.
Where the law permits a contractual cap, Altric's total aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid Altric during the six months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
That cap does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.
23. Indemnity for unlawful use
If you use Altric for unlawful activity, content you do not have the right to publish, fraud, or another serious breach of these Terms, and that directly causes a third-party claim against Altric, you are responsible for reasonable losses and costs caused by that conduct to the extent allowed by Nigerian law.
We will not use this clause to make you responsible for something caused by Altric itself.
24. Changes to Altric
We may add, modify, or remove functionality as Altric develops. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature during a period you have already paid for, we will try to provide reasonable notice and an appropriate remedy where required by law.
25. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms.
For minor changes, publishing the updated Terms may be sufficient. For material changes affecting existing paid customers, we will provide reasonable advance notice by email, in-app notice, or another appropriate method.
Changes will not retroactively create charges for periods already paid for.
26. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Before filing a formal dispute, you and Altric agree to first try to resolve it in good faith. Send a written description of the dispute to dispute@altric.co. We will try to respond within 14 days.
If it cannot be resolved informally, disputes may be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria, including the appropriate courts in Lagos where permitted by law.
Nothing here prevents a consumer from exercising a statutory right to complain to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission or another competent regulator.
27. General legal stuff
If one part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce something immediately does not permanently waive that right.
You may not transfer your Altric account or these Terms to another person without our permission, except as part of a legitimate business reorganisation where we approve the transfer.
We may transfer the operation of these Terms to Altric Technologies Ltd once its incorporation is completed, or as part of a legitimate corporate restructuring, merger, or acquisition.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any written plan-specific terms shown at checkout form the agreement governing your use of Altric.
