Privacy policy
This policy explains what Altric collects, why we need it, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are
Altric is a social publishing platform operated in Nigeria. Altric Technologies Ltd is currently in the process of incorporation in Nigeria.
Until incorporation is completed, references in this Privacy Policy to “Altric”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the people operating the Altric service. Once incorporation is completed, Altric Technologies Ltd will become the operator of the service and this policy will be updated with its registration details.
This Privacy Policy applies to altric.co, the Altric application, our waitlist, and the services we provide.
For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@altric.co.
2. What Altric does
Altric helps people and businesses plan, schedule, and publish social media content. Our initial social integrations are Facebook and Instagram through Meta.
When you connect a supported social account, you authorize Altric to perform the actions you request, such as retrieving information needed to identify your connected pages or accounts and publishing scheduled content on your behalf.
We do not need your Facebook or Instagram password. Connections are made through the authorization methods provided by Meta.

4. Why we use your information
We use personal data where necessary to:
- create and secure your account;

- connect your Facebook and Instagram accounts;
- schedule and publish content you instruct us to publish;
- provide collaboration and workspace features;
- process subscriptions and payments;

- detect fraud, spam, and abuse;
- investigate security incidents;
- understand how Altric is being used;

Where Nigerian data-protection law requires a lawful basis, this may include performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, improving, and protecting Altric. We will ask for consent where consent is required.
5. AI features
Altric may use Anthropic and DeepSeek to provide AI-assisted features such as writing, rewriting, or adapting captions.
When you use an AI feature, the information necessary to perform your request — which may include your prompt, draft, or other content — may be sent to one of these providers.
Do not put sensitive personal data, confidential information belonging to somebody else, passwords, payment credentials, or information you do not have permission to use into an AI prompt.
Altric does not claim ownership of your prompts or content because you used an AI feature. We do not use customer content to train Altric's own AI models unless we introduce such a feature and obtain the permissions required to do so.
Third-party AI providers process information according to their applicable commercial or API terms. AI output can be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing content before publishing it.
6. Services that help us operate Altric
We use service providers where necessary to operate the service. These currently include or may include:
- netcup — primary infrastructure and hosting;
- Backblaze — backups and storage;
- Cloudflare — networking, DNS, and security;
- Paystack — payment processing;
- Meta — Facebook and Instagram integrations;
- Anthropic — AI processing;
- DeepSeek — AI processing;
- PostHog — product and website analytics;
- Sentry — application monitoring and error reporting;
- Resend — email delivery.
These companies may receive only the information reasonably necessary for the service they provide. We do not sell personal information or customer data to advertisers.
7. Where your information is stored
A large majority of Altric's core infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Our primary application database is hosted on infrastructure operated by netcup in Germany.
We maintain backups, including through Backblaze, for resilience and disaster recovery. Some service providers may process information in other countries depending on their infrastructure and the feature being used.
Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, Altric will use the safeguards and transfer mechanisms required by applicable Nigerian data-protection law.
8. How long we keep information
We do not want to keep personal information forever just because storage is cheap. As a general rule:
- active account information is kept while your account exists;
- content is kept while you choose to store it in Altric;
- social-account access tokens are removed or revoked when you disconnect an integration where technically possible;
- when you close your account, we aim to remove ordinary account and content data from active systems within 30 days;
- deleted information may remain in disaster-recovery backups for up to 90 days before those backups rotate out;
- security, audit, and diagnostic information may be retained where reasonably necessary to protect Altric and investigate incidents;
- payment, invoice, and tax records may be kept for the period required by Nigerian law;
- information involved in fraud, disputes, or legal proceedings may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve them.
Backups are not intended as a permanent archive of deleted accounts.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect Altric and the information stored within it. These measures include, where appropriate:
- encrypted HTTPS connections;
- restricted access to production systems;
- access controls based on operational need;
- secure handling of credentials and API secrets;
- monitoring and error detection;
- backups and recovery procedures;
- security updates and dependency maintenance;
- incident-response procedures.
Where password-based authentication is used, Altric does not store passwords in plain text. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate it and make the notifications required by applicable law.
10. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, Nigerian data-protection law may give you rights including:
- to know how your data is used;
- to access personal data we hold about you;
- to correct inaccurate information;
- to request deletion;
- to restrict certain processing;
- to object to certain processing;
- to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
- to receive portable copies of certain data;
- to raise concerns about automated decision-making;
- to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Send requests to privacy@altric.co. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within the period required by applicable law.
11. Customer content containing other people's data
If you upload information about another person, you are responsible for having a lawful reason to use that information.
For information contained in content you create and control, you will generally act as the person deciding why that information is processed, while Altric processes it to provide the service you requested.
Do not use Altric to collect, upload, or publish personal information unlawfully.
12. Cookies and analytics
Altric may use cookies or similar browser storage for:
- authentication;
- security;
- preferences;
- product functionality;
- analytics.
We use tools such as PostHog to understand how the website and product are used and Sentry to diagnose failures. We do not use Altric customer data for third-party behavioural advertising.
13. Children
Altric is for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly provide accounts to children. If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may close the account and delete associated personal information as appropriate.
14. Business transfers
If Altric or substantially all of its business is acquired, merged, reorganised, or transferred to another company, information associated with the service may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor will remain subject to applicable data-protection obligations.
15. Law-enforcement and legal requests
We may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by Nigerian law, a valid court order, or another legally binding process.
We may also preserve or disclose information where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security threats, or serious abuse, subject to applicable law.
16. Changes to this policy
Altric will change as the product develops, so this Privacy Policy may also change. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide reasonable notice through email, the product, or the website where appropriate.
The date at the top tells you which version applies.
